*     Annual Fall IMHC Meeting  *

Join us on November 15th
1-4 PM at Rodgers Pavilion
1402 W. Deffenbaugh St., Kokomo IN 46902

We'll be hosting a Chili Cook-Off, Photo Contest,
Silent Auction and Club Awards
along with Social Activities

We also ask that each family bring two items to donate...

  • The first item can be any type of item you think your fellow club member would like to buy in the silent auction!  We’ve seen new and used décor, tack, feed, books, and baked goods.

  • The second item will be donated to an Indiana therapeutic riding center as our fall community service activity.  This can be something new (think brushes for small hands, leads, halters), program/housekeeping supplies (Kleenex, hand soap or sanitizer pumps, paper towels, toilet paper) or used tack or riding clothing that can either be reused by a facility or taken to a tack swap for them to raise more funds.  Monetary value is not important in either case; just your generous support is!

Here’s the scoop on the contests.

Chili Cook-off :

Bring a crock pot of your best Chili recipe (Feel free to think outside the box here) along with a serving utensil.

IMHC will provide all necessary bowls, cups, spoons, etc. for sampling. Serving size will be a small bowl for the chili (½ cup or so recommended).  Each person will get to vote for their favorite.  Sampling will begin around 1:15 pm and voting will end around 2:15 pm.   Results will be announced with the club awards. As if the glory of victory wasn’t enough, prizes will be presented for best of show.  We will also plan on publishing any recipes entrants are willing to share in the next club newsletter.

Photo contest:

Photos should be equine related and will be judged only by popular vote at the Fall Meeting!  No need for professional photography training here :)

Overall winners will be given in two categories

  • Morgan (Morgan horse as main feature of photo)

  • General Equine (think rider photos, horse facilities, other breeds, etc)

When taking photos, use your imagination! Try out photos of horses at shows, on the trail, in the pasture, or photographed from unusual vantage points. See beauty in your daily barn routine?  Catch your friends mugging for the camera, or just having fun?  Snap a photo.

All images must have been taken during 2014.

Note:  Photos may be used on the club website, newsletter, and Facebook page.  If possible, please submit images by November 1 via email to  in .jpg format. Please submit images in as high a resolution as possible.  If you would like to submit hard copy, send to Sara Rhodes at 26474 Hummingbird Dr., South Bend, IN 46619.
