LEARNING/SCHOOLING SHOW AND CLINIC AT THE HOOSIER HORSE PARK

This show will offer the opportunity, under informal conditions, to school in Dressage classes, in obstacle classes, and in a 'mini' marathon (under 2K).  Private lessons will be offered on Saturday and Sunday (first entry, first choice).

Children under 16 must wear hard hats and be accompanied by an adult in all classes.  Helmets are required for all on marathon.

AWARDS-  Classes will award 6 ribbons plus championship divisions. Classes may be split into Pony, Horse, Pairs, Multiples as entries warrant.

OPEN AND CLOSING DATES- Entries are open any time after January 1, 2008 and will close April 26th. Entries may be limited to first received

## ATTN BEGINNERS- There will be an instructional meeting on Saturday morning, open to all.  Since upper levels will be scheduled first, beginners will have this time to ask questions, get help from experienced drivers, and observe driving techniques and protocol.

CDE DIVISIONS- Each horse may be entered in only one CDE level for the overall championship, and/or MAY also be entered in any extra dressage classes as offered below.  Drivers may enter more than one level with different horses.  FEES: cost for all 3 phases is $50 per division

     A.  First-Timers Division (driver has never shown in rec. driving classes or CDE)- Dressage Tr Test 1; Cones 40 cm clearance; Hazard gates A-B 

     B.  Training Division- Dressage Training Test 2;  Cones 40 cm clearance (VSE 35 cm);  Hazard gates A-C

     C.  Limit Preliminary (driver has never shown Preliminary)- Dressage Preliminary Test 1;  Cones35 cm clearance;  Hazard gates A-D

     D.  Open Preliminary- Dressage Preliminary test 3;  Cones 35 cm clearance (VSE 30 cm);  Hazard gates A-D  

Extra DRESSAGE CLASSES- Driver may enter dressage classes only or in addition to their Combined Test.  All to show in 40X80 sand arena.  NO TURN OUT!  Competitors may wear informal attire, but hat, gloves, whip, and apron are mandatory.  Readers may ride in the carriage in all dressage classes if desired.  FEES: $15 per class added beyond or instead of combined test classes listed above

     7.  Percentage class- any upper level test may be used- highest percentage score to win (you must send us a copy of your test with your entry)

OBSTACLE  INFORMATION- All divisions will include 10 pairs of cones and will run under CDE rules (time allowed, 3 penalties per ball, best time breaks ties). First-timers and Training classes- NO CANTERING.   These classes are to be completed a short time following the dressage class for that division. Speeds: FT and TR 180 mpm, (VSE 160 mpm);  LP and OP  200 mpm  (VSE 180 mpm) 

'MINI' MARATHON INFORMATION- Will have only one trot section under 2K including 2-3 hazards- may include water and bridge.  Speeds for First Timers and Training (no cantering in obstacles): horses 13kph, large ponies 12 kph, small ponies 11 kph, VSE 9 kph;  Speeds for Limit Preliminary and Preliminary: horses 14kph, large ponies 13kph, small ponies 12kph, VSE 9kph).  Hard hats and Navigator are mandatory.  (Navigator may be waived for VSE.)

STABLING- Friday after 5pm thru Saturday evening $20;  Friday before 5pm thru Saturday evening $30; stay thru Sunday add extra $10- stall includes NO bedding-  bedding may be purchased from Hoosier Horse Park but may be ordered ahead of time on this form for $6 per bale

ACCOMMODATIONS-  Red Roof Inn, Taylorsville (6 mi) 812-526-9747; Holiday Inn Express (6 mi) 812-526-9899; Days Inn, Franklin (13 mi.) 317-736-8000;  camping permitted for a fee.

DIRECTIONS- I-65 to exit 80 (Edinburgh) W on ST. Rd. 252 to US 31. Straight across 31 onto Hospital Road. 4 miles to Schoolhouse road.  Turn right and go 1/2 mile to Horse Park.

STARTING TIMES- Will be mailed if you enclose a self-addressed stamped postcard with your entry.

CLINIC- Private lessons in either dressage, cones, or hazards or beginner driving (indicate your choice) are available with Leslie Hernandez @$35 per lesson- indicate preference of Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
